A bit of history
VISIT EL CAMINITO DEL REY
Before 2015 it was considered the most dangerous trail in the world. It was built between 1901 and 1905, next to the railway and as access to the dams inaugurated by King Alfonso XIII in 1921, it passes through the walls of the Los Gaitanes Gorge, a spectacular canyon excavated by the River Guadalhorce. If you have vertigo you will notice it on the suspension bridge that is 105 meters high
There were many who demanded its rehabilitation, since it runs through a spectacular natural area. After rehabilitation projects and works, paying great attention to safety and the environment, El Caminito was inaugurated in March 2015.

How long does it take to complete El Caminito del Rey?
It depends.
But if we do the route on our own at a leisurely pace, taking photos and stopping to have something to drink, about 3 hours. These calculations would be from when we got off the shuttle bus in the northern area of Caminito del Rey (next to the Conde del Guadalhorce reservoir) to go in the direction of the Reception Center (where we show the ticket).
